This was a great DVD. Jerry is seen, "behind the camera." He is human, he does say things that aren't always funny. The DVD was edited beautifully by putting in all the clips in a way that put a lot of theme into the DVD. Being labeled as a, "slow movie," is descriptive, not derogatory. The film encourages interest and understanding into the lives of comedians and Jerry Seinfeld himself. It is a very classy film in that Jerry does not have to be the star everyone knows that he already is. Watch it! December 5, 2007

COMEDIAN is a documentary about, yes, comedians--in particular Jerry Seinfeld and Orny Adams. It is NOT a movie about comedy, about being funny, or writing jokes, nor is it a set or sequences of sets. If that's what you're hoping for, you will definitely be disappointed. But I've just watched it on the eve of my performance in the finals of the Funniest Person in Hong Kong contest, and watching Adams and especially Seinfeld is incredibly helpful. That Seinfeld, whose name has become synonymous with standup, is this riddled with self-doubt, is astonishing. What Adams had to do--rewrite his material THE DAY of his appearance on Late Night with David Letterman at the request of the producers (he wasn't allowed to say 'lupus'!)--is an eye-opener. So, no, most of it isn't funny; a lot of it is slow; but this is the life of a comedian. So, what's the deal with reviewers who can't read titles?

And BTW, Adams is a tortured human being whose personality would be funny...IF it were an act. YIKES! October 26, 2007

This is an engrossing film that highlights the life of an up-and-coming comic, against mega-comic Jerry Seinfeld's return to stand-up. It features many interesting behind the scenes situations with Jerry's famous comic friends. Well shot and crafted. As an interesting comparison, watch Jerry and friends early appearances on The Tonight Show when they were first starting out - The Best of The Tonight Show - Stand-Up Comedians (2 Discs) June 9, 2007

This was a total waste of money....I Love Seinfeld, but this "documentary" has little to do with Jerry Seinfeld and a lot to do with a bunch of other comedians. WAY MISLEADING!!!! May 8, 2007

This portrays to be a "behind the scenes" view of several comedians' lives showing the ups and downs of the occupation. I found it to be boring and that it just drags on. It had some funny lines but was not a comedy; it gave us some information of the occupational lives of comedians but just scattered, disjointed and incomplete. I just do not believe there is any reason for this DVD. March 15, 2007
